Devil's Den State Park

Last Saturday we went with the Renfroe family and Snow family on a hike to a state park only 30 min. away. It is only a 1 1/2 mile loop with caves and waterfalls. It's a perfect hike for families and we had a great time. Matthew was held the whole time in backpack carrier, so no complaints there, and Carter had plenty of rocks to throw in the water. The only thing Carter didn't like were the caves and he screamed when we went near them. So like good nurturing parents we just laughed and took a picture. After we were done we had a picnic by the river. It didn't take long for Carter to be knee deep in the water. On the way home Carson and I talked about how we want to do things like this more often. We are lucky to live in area where outdoor activities are readily available so we might as well take advantage of it. I wonder where our next adventure might be?

Flowers n Such

What girl does not like flowers? I love flowers. They are so cheerful and bright and just wonderful. On Mother's Day I was showered with them. My Mom sent me some Tulips the Friday before Mother's Day, Carson brought home some Lilly's the next day, and on Sunday Carter came home from Nursery with a Rose. I was so tickled, in fact I may have even squealed with delight. Carson definetly made it feel like it was my special day. He even got up and made me waffles with sliced strawberries, which is pretty good for 9 a.m. church. I felt very appreciated and loved. Thank you Carson.

80's Rock

Last week Carson and I went to a friends birthday party. The theme was 80's and everyone had to dress up from that era. It was hilarious to see everyones outfits. Some people played it safe(like Carson) and others went all out. There was a special performance by "Bloody Finger"( it included the birthday boy and a couple of friends) and the highlight was the Karaoke machine. All of us girls opened with signing "Girls Just Wanna have Fun" and the guys sang "She's a Man-eater", Carson dedicated the song to me...thanks a bunch honey. The party was a blast and I can't wait to see what the Hapgood's decide to do next year. I am just glad that I don't have to untangle my hair every night from all the ratting. How did you girls deal with that everyday? Thank heavens I was just a little girl during that time. Carter is glad too that my outfit was just a one time thing. When I was getting dressed for the party and put on my shirt Carter started to whine, "Don't do that mom, don't do that!" I replied, "Don't do what? Don't wear this shirt?" He exclaimed, "Yes, don't do that!" Don't worry Carter I don't think I will be wearing this outfit anytime soon.
